Instagram's shocking effect on teenage mental health was never an internal secret! Zuckerberg knew!

Main Points:

Facebook has known for a while that found that its photo-sharing app, Instagram causes mental health issues in almost 32 percent of girls. This is according to a Wall Street Journal report published Tuesday.

Facebook conducted its own studies internally, and even CEO Mark Zuckerberg knew how Instagram can harm young developing minds, with teenage girls at the top of the list of most vulnerable.

And even more exciting news, Facebook is in currently in the process of creating "Instagram for kids under the age of 13."

With profit motives and 'time on the app' as the primary driving force, parents should seriously consider the addictive app.

Thirty-two percent of teen girls said that when they felt bad about their bodies, Instagram made them feel worse,” the researchers said in a March 2020 slide presentation posted to Facebook’s internal message board, reportedly seen by The Wall Street Journal. “Comparisons on Instagram can change how young women view and describe themselves.”

Another slide said, “We make body image issues worse for one in three teen girls,” said one slide from 2019. We are planning to start a campaign to help Mark Zuckerberg realize that he is harming civilization, which is already in trouble. We at Just For The Children realize that social media has tremendous benefits but we often ignore the downsides. And when it comes to young minds, there isn't enough one can do to protect them. So go ahead and go overboard! You have our permission. Protect your child's mental health. We have our videos and blogs and tip sheets. If you need more information, please do contact us!
